An update from Polyphony Digital – PlayStation.Blog

Dear Gran Turismo Community,

Thank you for your continued support and feedback on Gran Turismo 7. Your voice has not gone unheard. I would like to apologize for the frustration and confusion caused by our patch updates last week, which not only resulted in a server outage, but also adjustments to the in-game economy that were made without a clear explanation for our community became.

We know this is not the Gran Turismo experience you are expecting and we will be making a goodwill gesture in the form of an unpaid 1 million cr credit package. available for potentially affected players*. You will see this hitting your accounts shortly. Make sure to log into the game before April 25th to get the credits.

The previously deployed patch update should fix an issue with inconsistent reward payouts within a portion of World Circuit Events. But in order to restore the intended balance and provide more accurate rewards based on time spent and completion, it was necessary to recalculate the reward system as a whole.

In order to improve the gaming experience, we will release a major patch in early April. The number of events will be increased, and we will restore the reward system with greater balance throughout the game to benefit all players.

Updates coming into effect in early April:

  • Increase rewards by around 100% on average in events in the second half of the World Circuits.
  • Added high rewards for completing Circuit experience in all Gold/All Bronze results.
  • Increase in rewards in online races.
  • Add a total of eight new hour-long endurance race events to the missions. These also have higher reward settings.
  • Raised the cap on unpaid balances in player wallets from 20m Cr. up to 100 million cr.
  • Increase the range of used and legendary cars at any time.

In addition, some additional patches will be deployed by the end of April, adding new cars and tracks and making some other fixes.

Finally, we’d like to take this opportunity to showcase some of the near-term updates we’re working on. We cannot yet confirm an exact date or details but will announce this in advance via www.gran-turismo.com.

  • Increase the payout value of limited-time rewards as we evolve as a live service.
  • More World Circuit Event additions.
  • Adding endurance races to missions, including 24 hour races.
  • Adding online time trials and awarding rewards based on the player’s difference to the best time.
  • Do it so cars can be sold.

We want to thank you for your continued patience and valuable feedback as we grow and evolve GT7 to make it enjoyable and rewarding for as many players as possible. We always want to communicate with our community so we can work together to create the best possible racing experience.
