A new update has arrived for Call of Duty: Vanguard in Season 2 Reloaded, and the March 31st patch notes detail quite a bit of multiplayer weapon balancing and updates for the new Arms Race mode.
According to Sledgehammer Games patch notes, the developer has fixed some issues with Season 2 Reloaded’s large-scale Arms Race mode. The update fixes an exploit that previously allowed players to become invulnerable after dying from fall damage, and fixes a bug that caused purchases made at the Buy Station to not be deducted from a player’s cash balance. Also, players should no longer have an invisible weapon when the Bioluminescence or Steamship blueprints are equipped.
The update also includes some weapon balancing for Vanguard’s multiplayer. The Cooper Carbine Assault Rifle gets some attachment improvements with 8″ Ragdoll Short and 18″ Ragdoll G45 barrels, both of which get less recoil when firing. The popular 22″ Cooper Custom barrel attachment is now nerfed with an increase in ADS time.
For the Vanguard light machine guns, the Type 11 now has reduced recoil when firing, while the popular Bren light machine gun has been toned down a bit by increasing both sprint time and hip fire spread. Season 2’s Whitley light machine was also capable in multiplayer, but the patch notes reveal a massive 32% reduced damage bonus to the weapon’s .50 BMG 150 Round Boxes magazine attachment.
Changes also affect Vanguard rifles. The M1 Garand now has reduced ADS time while the SVT-40 has increased ADS time. For the G-43 Marksman Rifle, players can reduce both the weapon’s ADS time and hipfire spread.
Additionally, Vanguard’s Engineer perk will receive a slight buff with the update, providing improved visibility of highlighted enemy gear and killstreaks. Also fixed a bug in Vanguard’s UI where the combat speed and fast play filter selections no longer reset when players return to the main menu.
Call of Duty: Vanguard is currently offering two weeks of free access to select multiplayer modes, available on all platforms through April 13th. For Warzone, players are currently participating in the ongoing Rebirth Reinforced event with individual and community-based challenges.
