After the end of a much-criticized season of “Germany’s next top model”, chief judge Heidi Klum is primarily back on US television. In her adopted country, the model is a juror on “America’s Got Talent”, the American original of the German spin-off “Das Supertalent”. As part of this, the 49-year-old is also repeatedly invited to various late-night shows, where she answers talks with talk show hosts such as Stephen Colbert.
She was recently seen in Colbert’s “The Late Show” in the show category “Run it back”, where she was asked to assess various fashion trends from the 2010s: Are they, among other things, colorful skinny jeans or overknee Boots worth getting back in? She had a clear opinion on all the fashion pieces suggested – but she was also a little ashamed of a preference for shoes that had been in fashion for the past decade.
Heidi Klum reaps critical comments for fashion assessments
The fact that it was Heidi’s turn to judge the trends was a challenge for her, after all, she has been enthusiastic about many different trends in fashion for a long time. So she explained right at the beginning of the clip, which has now been published on Instagram: “I like a lot of trends and I’d love to bring a lot back. Because why not? If we can rock them, then we should.”
Initially, she gave a clear “return” rating to wide trousers with a low crotch, so-called harem trousers. “My husband would be very, very sad if we didn’t bring harem pants back because he still loves them. Yes, let’s bring the trend back! Actually, they never went away, I have a feeling.”she was delighted with the show’s editors’ suggestion.
In her opinion, however, jeggings, i.e. the mixture of jeans and leggings, are an absolute no-go: “Especially on men I don’t like them, but many still wear them”, criticized Heidi resolutely. But even colorful skinny jeans, which were very fashionable for women in the 2010s, are not coming back for the time being, according to the “GNTM” boss:
“Skinny jeans aren’t going right now, although I think you could wear anything. But these jeans aren’t really in fashion right now, so we’re not bringing them back right now. But soon.”
However, some users contradicted this in the comment column: “Skinny jeans are definitely still in” and “Jeans were never out”two commentators have a completely different opinion than Heidi.
Wedge sneakers should not disappear from the closet
Eventually, however, wedge sneakers were suggested to Heidi. These are shoes that look like normal sneakers on the outside, but they sometimes have a wedge heel hidden in them, sometimes more and sometimes less visually. Heidi’s confession was: “I have that in my closet too, but don’t tell anyone!” A few years ago, collectors of sneakers in particular were upset about the model.
Even if Heidi is 1.76 meters tall, she really enjoys wearing wedge sneakers – regardless of the criticism of the model. In most cases, however, it is primarily younger women who wear the shoes, which she is apparently also aware of:
“I’m almost 50 too… but I love these shoes, let’s bring them back.”
She honestly added: “I don’t want to sort out anything in my closet. I’d rather have a bigger house.”
Heidi Klum causes a stir with naked statements
Heidi Klum recently caused a stir with a special fashion statement: on a date night with her husband Tom Kaulitz, which she captured in numerous photos on Instagram, her look made it seem like she wasn’t wearing any underwear that night.
At least she is known for being quite revealing on social media – and she doesn’t stop at her husband either. In July, she photographed the Tokio Hotel guitarist sleeping in the sun. In the photo he was naked and his private parts were only covered with a small towel.
After Dieter Bohlen withdrew from “DSDS” last year, he has since spent a lot of time on the sunny island of Mallorca. From there he philosophized about new TV jobs and considered what big project he could start next: “If it’s possible, of course I want to do something completely new that will blow your mind. And of course that takes time, so give me a little time to think.”
