How to earn stubs fast in MLB The Show 22

MLB The Show 22 includes fan-favorite Diamond Dynasty, an online-focused mode that allows you to build a dream team of players past and present. In order to build this team, you need to open packs or spend Stubs – the game’s currency – and while you can spend real money to get them and build your team in a hurry, it’s a lot more fun (and fair) to get Stubs playing style. Here are a number of ways to earn Stubs in MLB The Show 22.

Win the Mini Season Championship

Repeatable and worth the challenge

A new single-player option you have in Diamond Dynasty is Mini Seasons, a mode that pits you against CPU-controlled versions of other players’ teams in bite-sized matches as you get closer to the championship. It’s not easy, but winning the championship is enough to get 10,000 stubs, which you can then use to buy multiple packs or bank for a top-tier player in the marketplace. Just be aware that in this mode you’ll be up against teams with very high player ratings, so bring your A-game.

A great way to get a small handful of stubs very quickly is in Showdown mode. In this mode, returning from last year, you’ll form a backyard-style team by drafting players and then taking part in challenges as you level up and get closer to a final battle against a superstar. However, every challenge also comes with stubs as a reward. It’s a great way to quickly build up your stash when your main team is struggling on the field. Just note that some of them come with low entry fees, so there is a small risk-reward element involved.

Complete programs

Get with the program.

One of the best ways not only to earn stubs, but also to get new players, is through the programs of MLB The Show 22. At the moment, the main one to complete is called Face of the Franchise, and if you earn XP through normal play and get completing challenges, you will earn levels. Many of these come with stubs bonuses, and those that don’t often come with great players You can place in the marketplace to get a nice bonus if they don’t fit into your team’s roster. Even XP earned in non-Diamond Dynasty modes counts towards these programs as well.

Collect and trade cards

MLB The Show 22 glosses over this, but completing “collections” routinely rewards you with stubs as bonuses. All you have to do is ban specific cards by visiting the Collect tab in Diamond Dynasty and you will receive these rewards. You can’t sell players you collect, but especially with Bronze and Silver players, the reward you get for collecting is worth it. Likewise, you can trade a handful of weaker players for silver or gold players, although this is a bit of a gamble when determining the stub value of your new players. Collections aren’t just for players, as you can lock down stadiums, uniforms, and more.

play conquest

Conquer the world in search of stubs.

A strategy-like mode where you conquer different “maps” by conquering territories from other teams. Conquest rewards differ depending on the challenge. For some of them, you can get stubs and valuable packs for completing them, as well as bonuses along the way of completing certain goals. It’s not as efficient as some of the other methods, but if you’re already trying to capture a big-name player like Mike Piazza, it’s a nice bonus to keep earning stubs.
