– Shortly after his return to the shows, it was announced that Miro had signed a new multi-year contract with All Elite Wrestling. Both sides are said to be very satisfied with the outcome of the contract and in an interview with WhatCulture the former Rusev now spoke about his reasons for the contract extension:
“I have Tony [Khan] Said I just wanna be me And since he’s a great boss, he agreed and just said ‘do what you want to do’. And I do. He doesn’t tell me whether to smile, whether to look at people, to do this or that. That’s why I extended it by several years. He gives me every opportunity. Here I have the freedom that I didn’t have in the other company. Whenever someone asks me where the big difference is [zwischen WWE und AEW] lies, then I answer ‘in freedom’. You don’t have to drop to a lower level to fit in like the other company does. You have your style, you go out and do your style, that’s what makes professional wrestling so much better.”
– A few weeks ago we reported HERE that Colt Cabana has signed a new contract and is now mainly scheduled for the Ring of Honor brand. In an update, Fightful now reports that the signs were more likely to be separated in the meantime. At least that was the impression within AEW. As recently as March, there was reportedly some excitement within the company as rumors circulated that Cabana’s contract would not be renewed. There has been much speculation, including whether tensions between Colt Cabana and CM Punk could be a reason. In fact, it was probably the case that the entire dark folder has moved more and more into the background in recent months. Colt is extremely popular within the company and many talents are said to have campaigned for a contract extension. He hasn’t been used in AEW since March, but he was part of the ROH Supercard of Honor event in April and is scheduled for the ROH roster as mentioned.
