MLB The Show 22 is now available for everyone, which means PlayStation and Xbox players alike can try to clear the achievement and trophy lists. The game has 25 achievements and trophies, with PlayStation having an additional trophy for the platinum. Most of the list are things that happen naturally over the course of a few dozen baseball games, with some requiring specific difficulty settings. Few require some dedication, but even then the overall list isn’t all that difficult.

Overall, the list is relatively doable, with only a few items requiring a focused effort on your part. Things like “Professional Framer”, “Fighting Fire with Fire” and “Don’t rub it” all happen naturally during regular gameplay so you don’t have to focus on them. Some, like Coming in Hot – which requires you to catch a line drive moving faster than 110 MPH – are pretty much out of your control, although of course it’s likely to happen.
As for the achievements that require some work on your part, the dynamic difficulty achievements will be added over time as long as you select the dynamic difficulty option. With this option enabled, the game will slowly increase the difficulty to suit your own abilities, and since the achievements are for the lower difficulty levels, this shouldn’t be a big deal.
The achievements you’ll probably need to focus on are Big Fly Ohtani San, Base Collector, Four-bagger Express, and Double-Sided Bat Flip. Big Fly Ohtani San, which requires you to hit a home run with a starting pitcher, takes some effort as DH means pitchers don’t typically hit in either league. Of course you can play as the Angels and have Ohtani on the mound and hit as DH. Double-Sided Bat Flip requires a switch hitter in your lineup, you must face both a left-handed and a right-handed pitcher throughout the game, and get a hit from either side of the plate.
For any success that doesn’t seem like it will come naturally, consider setting up an exhibition match and using the difficulty sliders to increase your chances. For the home run in the park you need fast players, use the sliders to increase your chances of hitting and increase the number of mistakes the CPU makes. Ultimately, nothing on this list requires intense grinding or an absurd amount of luck.
