“Sonic the Hedgehog 2 could easily have gotten bogged down in its game references and spacey worldbuilding, but avoids those pitfalls because Fowler and the cast know what’s fun about the idea. “Sonic 2 ends similarly to the first, with hints that this blue hedgehog will make his way through more adventures. Stay through the credits to find out what franchise characters Paramount and Sega will introduce next. A word of advice to the studio: don’t rush things, audiences were grateful when you took the time to rework the design of the CG Sonic and will wait so long to pay tribute to the characters they’ve already devoted so many hours to did the right thing to play at home.” — Peter Debrug [Full review]
