Stardew Valley is a game that offers its fans a world of twists and turns, adventure and a slice-of-life experience. Released in 2016, it quickly became one of the best indie games of the year, and for good reason, there are plenty of marketing opportunities when it comes to boosting the game’s popularity.
An online store called Sanshee became famous for its extensive list of items offered to the public, ranging from plush toys to enamel pins to clothing and coffee mugs. A popular item in the shop is a Stardew Valley Plush cushions with chickens in two colors, and two new colors are coming soon.
The adorable chicken plush pillow is currently available in blue and black, but Sanshee recently added two new colors that are available to pre-order. The store adds the generic white chicken and brown chicken as options, increasing the total of Stardew Valley Chicken items up to four, and all are available for $34.99. Currently, the blue chicken plush is sold out, but the popular and popular void chicken is still available. The ConcernedApe brand also offers plush pillows featuring characters like Abigail, Sebastian with a little frog, and Shane with a chicken, all listed for the same price.
If the photos of the winged creatures don’t do it justice, the reviews are strong selling points. Fans who have taken the plunge and spent money on the plush pillows have only said positive things about the items, commenting on how soft and huggable they are. Unlike their video game counterparts, these squishy chickens don’t need to be fed Stardew Valley but need constant attention and hugs. They are eight inches high, eight inches wide and nine inches long and are officially licensed by ConcernedApe, the game’s creator. It’s also worth noting that Sanshee suggests placing separate orders and not including pre-order items in the same purchase as available items as the item is currently on pre-order.
Reaction on social media is booming with excitement over the addition of the new chicken breeds, and some have already placed their pre-orders. It marks the second wave of color in five months, with the blue and empty chickens arriving in stores in December 2021, and hopefully it won’t be the last batch. Chickens are a huge hit in terms of popularity, with one fan even recreating one Stardew Valley Chicken by pixel art. It’s no surprise that one is already sold out, and it probably won’t be long before the remaining three colors follow.
Stardew Valley is currently available for Android, iOS, Linux, macOS, PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, Switch and Xbox One.
