The player named Iron Pineapple once asked himself a simple question. In their own words, they wondered if you can “defeat the Elden Ring without attacking bosses or enemies using tools like necromancers?” Having thoroughly exhausted the topic, Iron Pineapple decided to move from theory to practice and thus to begin what may have been the game’s first pacifist run ever. They have won.
Iron Pineapple recently managed to defeat Elden Ring without dealing any damage by attacking even once. The tediously long process involved summoning spirits before using healing and buffs to keep them alive in the face of the many powerful bosses in the Elden Ring.
“I’m not really the guy that makes celebration videos, so I just wanted to leave a comment here acknowledging the madness of this channel, which has hit a million subscribers since the last video,” Iron Pineapple said after seeing the proof had posted of their performance on YouTube. “As an anxious person who feels like I don’t deserve even a fraction of this, I don’t really know what to say. I truly appreciate everyone who has watched and subscribed to my videos over the years and I hope to continue to make things that are entertaining or worth your time.”
This pacifist run of the game was made possible by the wide variety of different tools and powers in Elden Ring along with its intricately designed open world. As many viewers on YouTube have pointed out, this would have been much more difficult with previous games by the same developer FromSoftware, along the lines of Dark Souls or Bloodborne.
However, while the player used healing and buffs extensively to help the summoned spirits survive the many bosses in the Elden Ring, Iron Pineapple was occasionally forced to find creative solutions to avoid attacks, often resulting in significant problems. Iron Pineapple detailed how they solved many of these in their video.
Despite all the troubles they encountered along the way, Iron Pineapple was finally able to beat the game and complete what may be the first-ever pacifist run of the Elden Ring. This follows news that another player from Seki managed to beat the game without taking any damage. “No-hit/no-damage is more difficult than a normal no-hit run because the player can’t take environmental damage like fall damage,” explained Seki. “This makes running more difficult as I don’t have access to buffs like Red-Feathered Branchsword that could potentially increase my damage output if I was low on health.”
