“They would negotiate with Hitler”

Poland’s national-conservative Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecky has publicly criticized French President Emmanuel Macron for his negotiations with Vladimir Putin, insisting they had achieved nothing.

“President Macron, how many times have you negotiated with Putin and what have you achieved?” demanded the Polish leader, citing the Frenchman’s numerous calls to the Russian president since the start of his invasion of Ukraine.

“We don’t discuss, we don’t negotiate with criminals. Criminals must be fought,” Morawiecki continued.

“Nobody negotiated with Hitler. You would then negotiate with Hitler, with Stalin, with Pol Pot?”

In fact, Stalin himself attempted to negotiate with Hitler after the invasion of the Soviet Union—and vice versa—although the proposed peace accords between the Nazi and Communist dictatorships in 1941, 1942, and 1943 all ultimately fizzled out.

Speaking after Ukrainian forces and foreign journalists claimed they uncovered evidence of war crimes in Bucha near Kyiv (Kyiv) after Russian forces withdrew from Ukraine’s capital region, Morawiecki also took aim at German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, who was at some Macron’s phone calls with Putin were involved.

“Chancellor Scholz, Olaf. It’s not the voices of German companies [and] Billionaires – stopping you from trading – that should be heard in Berlin today. It is the voices of innocent women and children, the voices of murdered people that should be heard by all Germans and German politicians,” the Polish leader stressed.

He further claims that more than a decade of German policy towards Russia has allowed Moscow to build up the strength needed to begin its invasion – a claim repeated in a recent article published by Ukrainian state media entitled “Putin’s Useful German Idiots”.

“From Germany’s veto on Ukraine’s and Georgia’s NATO membership in 2008, to its pursuit of gas deals with Moscow, to its opposition to arms shipments to Kyiv, the country’s leaders have served as useful idiots for Putin,” the article said, raising the bar four terms of office, former Chancellor Angela Merkel and the current Chancellor for criticism.

In fact, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy also voted for Ms. Merkel – who was hailed by toady in the left-liberal international press as the “new leader of the free world” when Donald Trump was US President, in large part because of her failed open-borders policy reviled her longstanding appeasement of the Kremlin, inviting she and her former French counterpart, Nicolas Sarkozy, to come to Bucha to see the fruits of their policies for themselves.
