GOP senator dodges question over Trump’s praise of Putin

Amid ongoing questions about a gap in Donald Trump’s call logs during the Capitol riots, Representative Jamie Raskin said the missing logs in question “suspiciously” coincide with the “heart of events” on Jan. 6, 2021.

Speaking to CBS on Sunday’s Face The Nation program, Mr Raskin said: “It is very unusual for us to suddenly go dark for seven hours to follow the President’s movements and conversations. ”

Mr. Raskin, a Maryland Democrat who is also a member of the Jan. 6 committee, added, “It appears the gaps are suspiciously tailored to the heart of events.”

Six weeks after the launch of Donald Trump’s Truth Social app – touted as an attempt to “defy Big Tech’s tyranny” – observers are calling the Twitter-like platform a “disaster” and a “massive failure.”

Launched on Presidents’ Day, the app has been plagued by technical issues and about 1.5 million people remain on the waiting list to join and unable to use it.

Gaps in Trump’s phone logs during the Capitol riot are ‘suspiciously tailored to the heart of events’

Democrat Jamie Raskin of Maryland has said that the former president’s phone logs on the day of the Capitol riots “suspiciously” coincided with the “heart of events.”

Mr Raskin said: “It’s a very unusual thing for us to have all of a sudden go dark for seven hours to follow the President’s movements and talks.”

During an interview with CBS News, Mr. Raskin said the House committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021 Capitol riots was able to “piece together” phone calls from the former president.

He added: “But we don’t have a comprehensive, fine-grained portrait of what was going on during that period and that’s obviously of great interest to us.”
