The appearance of Christine Kurzmann from Essen on “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?” neither Günther Jauch nor the spectators will be forgotten in a hurry. The candidate constantly reproached the moderator for not helping her enough and finally even walked through the studio to cope with stress. In between, Jauch lent her his glasses. Even the otherwise so relaxed showmaster seemed to have reached his limits. At one point he countered that the show was not called “Supervised Winning”. After the social worker had given up at 64,000 euros, he reacted with relief: “This calm! Wonderful!”
On social media, on the evening of July 18, many users were annoyed by the candidate. At “rtl.de” Kurzmann reviewed the issue again and explained why she was so excited on the show.

The RTL team played several scenes with Günther Jauch again for the candidate. Especially the moment when the moderator lent her his glasses seemed to touch her rather unpleasantly afterwards. Kurzmann’s reaction to this:
“Oh dear! The glasses scene…”

But would she do something different today, would she get a second chance at “WWM”? This question does not seem to arise for Kurzmann: “I have to deal with being like this. I tried to be different once, that doesn’t make it any better.” So she doesn’t even try to pretend.
In fact, she had always been so excited, even in her childhood. Kurzmann explains: “When I was awake, I also talked. That was always a sure sign: If the child doesn’t speak, it will get sick. And if it starts talking again, it will get better again.” She remembered her mother saying to her, “You’re talking a lot again, so you’re feeling better.”
The candidate’s hyperactivity in “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?” doesn’t seem to be just down to nervousness or stage fright – viewers just saw the “normal” version of her.
“WWM” viewers annoyed by Kurzmann
But that was not well received by many. On Twitter, numerous users were able to empathize with Jauch’s desperation and found clear words for Kurzmann. For example, one user ranted:
“She should distribute her winnings among the viewers in the studio as compensation for pain and suffering. And the other candidates!”
Another person found the program with (and because of) Kurzmann “intolerable” and continued zapping.
Elsewhere, she was even voted the most unlikable “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?” contestant of all time:
The beginning of Antonia Hemmer and Patrick Romer’s love story was quite turbulent: the hobby farmer and the beautician took part in the 16th season of “Bauer sucht Frau” in 2020. In addition to Antonia, the farmer invited another candidate to his farm. During Hofwoche, Antonia decided to leave the show voluntarily. Finally, at the end of the season, Patrick initially chose Julia. But apparently his heart was beating for Antonia the whole time, because in the end the two became a couple and still are today.
